Who are we ?

The small craftsmen of a big dream.

The shipyard was created near Lille in France in 1996 by Dominique Tourte. The first and only model proposed by the architect, the "Youpi" owes its name to the cry of joy which greeted its first edge up close. Distributed in a very confidential manner to a few enthusiasts, the Youpi has become over time the "official boat" for all lovers of old rigging and a certain art of playing with the wind. Often imitated since then, with varying degrees of success, the Youpi remains the only one-design boat in its category to be able to boast nearly 400 models sailing around the world. Since 2010, the APM site, led by Marc, has the exclusive right to manufacture the kits in close association with the architect. The workshop manufactures most of the parts that make up the Youpi kits and turns the spars in its premises from selected woods (oregon pine, mahogany ...). Entirely artisanal and independent, the site's ambition is to perpetuate its existence by having its commitment, quality and requirement recognized.
